Our goal for this morning was to try to find a fairly short walk somewhere not far from home where we could stretch our legs, ideally out of the sun. After a bit of searching various sites, we came across a place call Tine de Conflens which is around La Sarraz in Vaud.

There are three suggested starting points to the walk which leave you 10, 20 or 40 minutes away from the waterfalls. We chose to park in a little car park in the south of Ferreyres which was about 15 minutes to the waterfalls.
We were greeted by a small herd of cows next to the road which delighted the children and sparked an elaborate mooing competition. We set off down the path which is a nice mix of climb and descent — neither especially arduous although there were a few large steps where Jude needed a bit of extra help. After a few minutes of walking we reached the first bridge with water rushing past below to a nice shady pool.

This led to a lovely rocky clearing which we navigated carefully and continued the walk. Closer to the main waterfall there are more haphazard steps and a wooden walkway which opens at the end onto the beautiful view of the waterfall, rock pools, beautiful greenery and the glitter of water droplets.

It’s a lovely and cool down there and a great place to take photographs - everyone (including Jean) seemed to be passing the barrier at the end to climb some little steps to a raised platform which afforded a better view of the scenery.
On the way back we paused to discover a little pebble beach by the river which was really pretty. There were several good spots for a picnic or a bbq but no tables etc so you’d need to go prepared.

The car park is quite small so it seems a good idea to get there early, it’s not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs and make sure you take some insect spray as there were a lot of mosquitos zipping about. There are no facilities around the car park that we could see.
It was a really nice short walk, quite easily manageable and surrounded by beautiful scenery at every turn.
