We had the amazing opportunity to be staying at this peaceful haven that combines beauty, relaxation and discovery. Ideally situated in the heart of the Swiss Riviera, in Vevey, the hotel affords breathtaking views of Lake Geneva and the Alps.
You are going to think that we spend our lives living it up in 5 star hotels!! We actually had to pinch ourselves (and each other) when the Museum Jenisch asked us if we would like to stay at their partner hotel following our visit at the beginning of November, since it turned out to be the famous 5* Trois Coronnes on the lake shore in Vevey! What a place!! We arrived late afternoon following the workshop at the Jenisch museum and were shown to our suite with lake view!!!
We couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw how much space we had and how beautiful the rooms were - each room is individually designed and ours had a Japanese theme which was really cool. We had plenty of beds for everyone and separate sitting areas which meant we could spread out.
The children had been spoilt too with dog soft toys, little bath robes and slippers and colouring sets each. Jude quickly set to work on his colouring sheets and Alba has barely put her dog toy down since they discovered each other. She even took him to the créche this last week!
We unpacked our things and headed downstairs where we installed ourselves by the fire for a drink in the beautiful lobby area. We had decided to try room service for our evening meal as the children were quite tired, and they were so excited when it arrived on a table with their plates hidden under cloches. Jude and Alba pulled up chairs either side and pretended they were having a « date » in a fancy restaurant and Jude declared it was the best pasta he had ever eaten. Jean and I decided to eat in peace when they were in bed and we crept in to their room to see Elio peacefully cocooned in his little cot bed and Alba and Jude both snugly wrapped up in their cosy duvets before we ordered something to eat for ourselves.
We all slept really well and, since we for once we weren’t pushed for time, the children enjoyed a long bubble bath before we went down for breakfast. Even on a rather grey day, the view across the terrace from the breakfast room was lovely and we were impressed with the amount of variety at the buffet which had plenty of choice for the children who managed to maintain a degree of civilization for long enough for us to enjoy our breakfast.
Before we headed for home, we were lucky enough to find a break in the rain for a walk along the lake - the hotel is just next to the fork sculpture which Alba found very amusing and its a wonderfully peaceful spot.
Needless to say that given the chance, we would have happily stayed an extra night or two in this glorious oasis of luxurious calm ;-).
